Size & Fit
A useful fit check starts with measurements, not the letter on a label. Our styles have individual size references. A medium in one style may fit differently from a medium in another.
Body measurements and garment measurements differ
Body measurements follow your body. Garment measurements describe the clothing, which includes room for movement and the intended silhouette. Do not assume the two should be identical.
A flat width is measured across one side of a garment laid flat. A circumference goes all the way around. A 21-inch flat chest width is approximately a 42-inch garment chest circumference. Only double values identified as flat widths; do not double a circumference.
Measure your body
- Chest: wrap a flexible tape around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it level and comfortable.
- Waist: measure around the area where you expect the waistband to sit. Keep the tape snug without pulling it tight.
- Hip: measure around the fullest part of your seat.
- Inseam: measure from the crotch seam to your preferred hem position. A pair of pants you already like is often easiest to measure.
Compare a garment you trust
Lay it flat without stretching it. Measure chest from side to side at the underarm, pants waist across the waistband, hip across the fullest part and length from the top edge to the hem. For elastic waists, compare the relaxed measurement unless a range is specifically given.
Overall pants length is not inseam. A sleeve measurement may start at a shoulder seam or follow a raglan sleeve from the neckline; compare the same kind of garment when possible.
Choose the intended silhouette
A slim cut sits closer to the body. A straight leg keeps a more consistent width, while a wide leg adds room and a cuff gathers the opening. If you are between sizes, consider both the measured dimensions and the amount of space you prefer.
Inches and centimeters appear together where dimensional data is supplied. Inch values are calculated using 1 inch = 2.54 cm and rounded to one decimal place. Some styles provide a body-weight reference instead; weight is only a starting point and does not replace body shape or fit preference.
